Mallorca/Majorca -
Two mountain ranges cross Mallorca, the Tramuntana range, in the N-W, its highest elevation is Puig Major (1,445m), and in the E the Llevant Range. Between both the fertile Plà de Mallorca plain spreads out with the capital city Palma in the E of it by the great bay of Palma. Remains of the rich ancient history are found around Llucmayor and Llevant. The monasteries of Cura or Sant Salvador are up in tranquil mountains. Sandy beaches, like S´Arenal and Magaluv, are around the island.
